Another GREAT New Year at Enochville!

    "Just do it!"

It's hard to believe another summer has flown by and we are ready to begin a new school year. There are some changes in the AIG program this year, including a change to the AIG reading classes.

This year fourth and fifth graders will join forces for a 4/5 AIG Reading Class. This combination class will meet daily for an hour and fifteen minutes of reading fun! Topics for this year include a Titanic exploration, a Graveyard Tour of Rowan County, Alice in Wonderland, and the Great Rowan County Toy Invention Convention! Stay tuned for more specific details.

Math will continue to be served by grade levels with fourth grade coming in the afternoons each day and fifth graders during their second block of instruction. We will be focusing even more this year on technology integration into the math curriculum. Be ready to grab your iPods or laptops and go!

Kindergarten, first grade, second grade and third grade will continue to receive enrichment services. This year, I will begin with third grade during first quarter and work backwards to finish with kindergarten during the fourth quarter. Units of study will promote higher order thinking skills, technology use and class collaboration. We will tackle problem based learning units covering everything from mysteries to Legos.
